About the event
In many communities in southern Italy and Sicily, those who mark St. Joseph's Day or La Festa di San Giuseppe, which is annually observed on March 19th, create bread loaves as an act of prayer and thanksgiving for their "tavola" or table-altar for the patron saint of fathers, fatherhood, carpenters, and those who toil for their work. Most breads are not intended to be eaten, but are intended as decorations and acts of devotion. This is a fun evening of craft and comradery recalling a profound tradition from southern Italy and Sicily. Bring your ideas, creative spirit, and intentions for this powerful saint.
